Cactus Wrap Use and Care Instructions Warning: These wraps when used for their intended purpose become very hot. Caution must be used when removing wraps and mugs from the oven. Always use oven mitts, hot pads, or gloves designed for handling hot items to avoid any type of injury. Instructions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees f. (205 degrees C.). While the oven is preheating, prepare the images, mugs and wraps as below. The number of mugs that can be done at one time depends on your oven. As many as 12 can be baked at one time if using a convection oven that is large enough. Without a convection oven, the number may need to be reduced in order to achieve consistent results. Tape the transfer to the mug(s) using heat tape. Cover with plain paper to avoid blow-out and getting ink on the wrap. Place the standard wrap around the mug inserting the catch block through the handle of the mug (the white will be to the outside). Engage the catch block, align the wrap to be even with the top, bottom and handle of the mug. Adjust tension bolt until snug by hand, then turn another revolution or two ( a 7/16" nut driver will make it easier). Do not overtighten! For the Cactus Qwik Wrap, put around the mug by placing the end with the hooks (seams facing out) close to the handle. While holding the mug and wrap with one hand to keep it in place (insert several fingers into the mug, and thumb on the wrap), stretch the wrap around the mug and place the bar onto the hooks.
Place the mug(s) upside down on the center rack of the oven. They should be spaced evenly and not touching. Be sure to allow air space between the mugs and oven walls. Average times for baking are 15 minutes. They will vary slightly depending on oven, transfer type, inks, number of mugs and the actual mugs (coatings) used. When finished, carefully remove from oven and take off the wrap(s). Loosen the bolt on standard wraps until the wrap falls away form the mug. On Qwik Wraps, remove by slipping the hook off the bar (squeeze the ends with a slight twisting motion). Place the mug(s) into a bowl of water and allow to cool. Once cooled and the transfer has been removed, the mug may be rinsed and dried with a soft cloth. Note: For longest mug life, unless you are certain your mugs are dishwasher safe, you should hand wash and avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Maintenance: Periodically, the tension bolt on the Standard Wrap should be removed, cleaned and regreased. Use only a high temperature Teflon grease such as Super LubeŽ. (applies to standard wrap only). The outside may be cleaned with standard cleaners, but make sure the wrap is completely dry before use. |
